BUDO

BUDO high speed passenger ferries connects the north-west Turkish cities of Bursa and Istanbul, across the Sea of Marmara.

The company name stands for Bursa Deniz Otobüsleri, translating literally to Bursa Sea Buses, which is run by Burulaş who is responsible for the transportation infrastructure around the city which includes trams, trains, buses, and, of course, ferries. Offering competitive prices, BUDO has become a popular choice since its inception in 2013, while providing one of the quickest routes across the Sea of Marmara.

BUDO’s catamaran sails between Kabataş dock in Istanbul and Mudanya, about 30km north of Bursa, many times a day, increasing the frequency during high season with a crossing duration lasting about 2 hours. Due to the nature of this short journey, the facilities on board are relatively limited, though there is a cafeteria serving light refreshments. The catamaran consists of 2 seating decks over 2 floors with room for hundreds of passengers.
