Eckerö Linjen
Eckero Linjen is a Finnish shipping company operating between Grisslehamm in Sweden, just north of Stockholm, and Eckero on the Finnish island of Aland, in the Gulf of Finland.
Owned by the Rederiaktiebolaget Eckero Group, who transports approximately three millions passengers annually, Eckero Linjen began operations in 1961. Smaller ferries were used in the early days, but today, Eckero Linjen boasts a singular, large and modern ship named MS Eckero, with MS Roslagen only used during the summer high season. Moreover, travelling with Eckero Linjen offers a far quicker and shorter sailing than with their competitors, completing the journey in just one hour and forty five minutes.
Built in 1979, MS Eckero spans a hundred and twenty one metres long, accommodating over sixteen hundred passengers. If travelling with a vehicle, the capacity is two hundred and sixty five, while the on-board features include an a la carte restaurant, a café, conference facilities, a large supermarket and a games room.
