Operated by Moby Lines on the Genoa Olbia route
Moby Lines new-generation cruise ferry Moby Otta has a large vehicle and passenger capacity as well as featuring a wide range of onboard facilities including around 400 cabins, a choice of places to eat and drink, a pool with sundeck, children’s play area and much more.
There are 400 en-suite cabins available onboard the Moby Otta as a choice of inside or sea view (outside) as well as a selection of suites. For those who'd prefer not to book a cabin there is a reserved seating area with comfortable coach style seats.
On the Moby Otta you'll find an à la carte restaurant where there's a choice of dishes rich with Mediterranean flavour or you could try the self-service restaurant which offers a range of freshly cooked dishes and also offers a fun children's menu. Authentic Italian pizza is available at the pizzapoint and there's also an ice cream parlour. If you want to have a drink whilst topping up your tan then the Lido bar on the sun deck is the place for you or if you want a relaxing evening then head to the scenic panoramic bar or the Admiral Pub.
Onboard the Moby Otta you'll find a shopping centre with a selection of clothing, children’s toys, maps, magazines, books and more.
The Moby Otta also features a gelateria, swimming pool with solarium and a show lounge.
For children, travelling with Moby Lines will be a trip into a world of imagination, not least due to the Looney Tunes branding and figures which can be found everywhere onboard. The Moby Otta has a dedicated children’s play area that they call ‘Children's World’. The videogames rooms are bursting with games for older children too.
If you will require assistance during your trip then you must specify this at time of booking and ensure that you arrive at the port at least two hours before the departure time to discuss requirements with the check-in staff to ensure that your vehicle can be parked within easy reach of access ways and assistance provided during boarding and disembarkation.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Moby Otta guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

"Thank you mobby ferries."
We had a nice and save trip with the mobby ferries. Our Cabin was clear and we had a window viewing to the ocean. Our car was undamaged. The food was delicious but a little bit expensive. The only thing we didn't like where the lots of dogs in section of the ship where shouldn't be dogs in the dinner room or near the pool. In some floors or near the pool was shit or pee of the dogs although there was a sign no dogs in that area. The journey with Mobby ferries was very good and relaxing. Thanks
"camp lounge bar"
The staff and service was excellent, however people camping out in the lounge bar meant that at one poiny t there were no Vails le seats for us who had purchased drinks . Chairs were used to make a eallyo protect sprawling sleepers. Also an inflatable doublebed blocked the foyer on the outward nohrney. Surely these beds all over the pathways are a danger hazard if there were an emergency. I think camping out has become so extreme that it now needs regulating .ble ks
"Genoa to olbia"
Cabins comfy makes a long trip pass quick. Shower ok. On way over to Sardinia we got 4 berth cabin and it was ideal, clean etc with bathroom. On way back shower in our cabin leaked all over the bathroom floor, however apart from that journey was great like last time although 2 hrs late in docking. Made no difference to us.
"Pedestrians enjoying a smooth crossing"
Pedestrians can get onto the ship 2.5 hours before the ship sails although once you've been through security, and are out on the tarmac, the signage to your ferry is not clear (!) and as there were 4 ships docked on the quayside we had to ask which ferry was ours, which was easy enough to do as the staff on the dockside spoke English. Suggest you book a cabin (like we did) in order to have somewhere comfortable to sleep during the overnight 10.5 hour crossing and to have somewhere safe to put your luggage (cost for a double cabin just over £100); otherwise you have to sleep on passenger seats or on the floor. People who hadn't booked a cabin brought their own "mattresses", sleeping bags and pillows. There is a super restaurant with well cooked food served by delightful waiters (where we dined) and also a self-service restaurant and bar (which we didn't get round to using). Ship docked at 8:30am instead of 8am. Cabin was clean and had a shower and toilet. I'd do it again.
"Clean and well maintained and managed ferries"
We always use Moby ferries when travelling to Sardinia where we have a house. They are cleaner and better managed ferries that the other companies that cover the routes to Sardinia. We could do with less of the cartoon characters on display everywhere. We rarely see children at the times we travel May/June or Sept/Oct but I guess the kids like them in August. The cabin is adequate for an overnight crossing with en suite. I wish we could be allowed to lie-in a bit longer rather than being awoken 2 hours before we dock to ensure we have breakfast etc and are ready for departure. The sensible people lie-in an hour and come to breakfast half an hour before docking and so avoid the queues! We ate in the A La Carte restaurant which we found expensive at €97 on the way out for 2 people and €85 on the way back having less wine and missing a starter. The grilled vegetable were cold...not even room temperature and generally the meal was overpriced for what we got. May try the 'canteen' next time or bring a box of sushi as I saw others sensibly chose! The onboard shop is a bit disappointing if you need a last minute present as we did. Bought something better in a motorway services en route to Lyon. Overall the staff are pleasant and well trained and the ferry is very comfortably furnished and better than the alternatives.
"What happened to the soap"
I have always enjoyed the ferry crossing from Olbia to Genoa on the Moby ferry, but for some reason this time around the shower had sachets of soap, two, and nothing else. Trying to open one of these was quite frustrating and ended up with me having to use my teeth to break into it, not sure how somebody weak or old would get on. Also there were no cups in the cabin, I had to go and find one. The a la cart estaurant food was OK but the cost of the very small portion of pesto which I had as a starter was exorbitant to say the least, and I have had better pesto from a jar, but it was OK although very watery. The steak that followed was fine, the service was good but somebody should mention to the waiters that a smile can go a long way.
"Not the best"
I used this ferry to travel from genoa to olbia and got a cabin as i had a big luggage bag, 2 hours before arriving i was kicked out of my cabin and told to go sit in the restaurant, wasnt even aloud to have a shower before leaving my cabin. After sitting in the restaurant and paying €30 for some frozen chicken and chips i was then asked to leave the restaurant as it was closing so i had to walk round with a large bag trying to find somewhere to sit!
"Moby Lines needs to step up on its services"
I’ve travelled on many ferries in the last 40 years and I have witnessed the transformation of ferry services especially in the Mediterranean. Suffice to say that travelling with Moby from Genoa to Olbia has brought me back right to the 70’s in terms of service we have received. Staff seemed untrained at best, if not plainly rude. The self service served food that reminded me of school dinners in the 70’s at the price of fine dining of 2018 and that, all in all, is not acceptable given the escalation of prices of ferries to Sardinia in the past few years.
"Moby Olbia to Genoa"
Traveling alone you sometimes get dumped into a cabin for 2. This was not the case with Moby, both directions sole occupancy which is easier and better. Double bed this time, appreciated that. Everything clean and working. Moby Drea obviously recently overhauled, everything fresher than the Moby Otto. But still no accompanying leaping whales and dolphins so no 5 stars.
"livorno olbia"
Booking and withdrawal ticket with no problem, perfect journey, punctual.
"Could be improved"
In general all good, 4berth cabin, one of them double bed. But the speacker inside the cabin where too loud and we got scare all the times someone announced something with them. In the garage they shoul give the chance to who entered first to get out first as well.
"Good trip"
We did a night crossing and it was great
"Genova-Olbia and return"
on the 31/08 at 21.00 I had my ferry from Genova to Olbia with Moby. It was my first time. Friendly staff, great self service restaurant, good bars. Recommended
"bad experience"
We travelled from Olbia to Livorno and return on August 2014. Garage staff not professional and too young. The reserved seats are not enough for everyone so people keep running around trying to find a place. Boardin process too slow and not organized at all. I won't travel with Moby anymore.
"trip livorno/olbia/livorno"
Outbound and return on time. Good service on board but I found out that all the bars had only room temperature water, the only cold drinks were the more expensive one like the Coke. They should have more controls for the children area because there were a lot of children out of the range age, playing and becoming a danger for the younger. And also, i would like more controls on people that sleep everywhere using more than just one place.
"Very nice"
Everything went well. There was a problem with the toilet in our cabin and immediately, we were offered another cabin.
"ferry to sardinia"
friendly and polite staff. Clean cabin. Good restaurant
"It could be improved"
This is the second time for me, I have to say that in my opinion they can be improved.. A part for the delays in departure and arrival time.. I don't understand way they allow the people to sleep in the corridor with sleeping bags…
"Journey Livorno-Olbia"
It is a scandal that I had to pay 800 euro for my ticket on what was an average ferry with such a disorganisedset of staff.
"We went for the first time with such a large ferry and were totally fascinated "
We went for the first time with such a large ferry and were totally fascinated. We slept very well. The cabins were very clean. It was a great, positive experience for me and my family.
"Very good"
I was pleasantly surprised, i will travel with them again!
"Cabin and archairs "
Not enough info about cabins and armchairs.
"Livorno - Olbia and return"
All worked very well, the day crossing as well as the night crossing with cabin. I don't understand why on both routes the ferry was one hour late compared to the 6.5 hours which are mentioned on the web.The port in Livorno could be signposted better.
"Trip in August"
This ship is very comfortable, like most of the other Moby ships, but it is a bit slow. It leaves earlier and arrives later than other ships, i dont know why!
