One of Italy’s lesser known coastal resorts, Ortona’s lack of popularity doesn’t detract from its appeal. Despite its idyllic shoreline, there is more to Ortona than the golden sands and warm seas; the quaint streets are lined with unique, colourful buildings and lead to the inviting landmarks. The Museo della Battaglia di Ortona and Palazzo Farnese are usually top of the itinerary for most visitors, and to continue the path of history and culture, head to Quartiere Medioevale di Terravecchia to embrace the stunning architecture.

Due to close proximity of the beaches and notable landmarks, most tourists tend to travel around Ortona by foot. Alternatively, there are taxis readily available for quick and convenient transport.
