The Italian town of Positano is located along the beautiful Amalfi Coast and is widely regarded by many as one of the most picturesque coastal towns in the country. The town itself has a good number of pretty pastel coloured houses that seem to cling to the hillside next to the sea and visitors should be aware that there are a large number of steep streets and stairways in the town which may be a challenge for some. Despite the town now being a popular holiday destination it has still managed to retain a great deal of its charming fishing village atmosphere that has stunning cliff-hugging roads, lively beachfronts and some breathtaking views. How early do I need to arrive at Salerno port?  

We recommend arriving at Salerno port at least 1 hour before departure. However, if you are travelling with a vehicle, it’s best to arrive 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours before departure to allow time for parking. Wherever you’re travelling from, you should allow plenty of time to get to the port in case of traffic.

How and when will I get my Salerno to Positano ferry tickets?

How to get to Salerno port 

You can get a train to Salerno from many major Italian cities including Florence and Rome. Once you've arrived, the ferry terminal is just a short walk from the station. You can also get a bus to Salerno port from various destinations. Alternatively, you can travel by car. Salerno is connected to the motorway making it easy to drive here.

Useful information on your arrival to Positano

Ferries to Positano take you to the centre of the charming Italian town. There's plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance of the port. If you're travelling further, there's also public buses and taxis available at the port.
