The grey concrete skyline that defines San Andres town centre detracts from its considerable appeal, so it’s best to head to the smaller villages such as La Loma and San Luis to savour a taste of authentic Caribbean lifestyle. Aside from the town centre, much of the island is decorated in verdant foliage and tropical palm trees, painting an image that is associated with the paradisiacal nature belonging to San Andres. To truly rejoice in the glorious surroundings, test your scuba diving and snorkelling ability in the fresh water under the blissfully blue skies.
