The Silja Galaxy is the floating entertainment centre of the Baltic Sea! With her 1000 cabins the M/S Galaxy can easily accommodate 2800 passengers and as you would expect of the Silja Line brand, the onboard facilities are among the best around. There’s a choice of a la carte and self-service restaurants, numerous bars, night clubs, a shopping mall, a children’s play area, an excellent sauna department with a pool, a modern conference room and more.
There are more than 1000 cabins onboard ranging from spacious balcony suites to standard inside cabins. All cabins are en-suite with a TV and specially adapted cabins for disabled passengers and allergy-friendly cabins are also available.
Dining onboard the Silja Galaxy is an unforgettable experience! The Happy Lobster restaurant offers a high class and versatile seafood menu with a fabulous selection of wine. The brand new Tavoláta restaurant offers a fine array of Italian cuisine, while in the Grill House you’ll find great food on a hefty menu in a relaxed atmosphere. For a wide variety head to the newly renovated Grande Buffet which offers delicious dishes to suit every taste – all in front of a magnificent sea view. The Cafeteria gives you the option of something small and light, and the brand new Fast Lane restaurant is the perfect choice for either a quick snack, or a relaxed meal. When it comes to drinking venues the Silja Galaxy doesn’t disappoint with its large choice of pubs, bars and clubs. The warm hearted Pub Tallink is a relaxed living room selling full-bodied beers and fresh ciders. In the all-white Piano Bar you’ll find an excellent place to sit and enjoy the evening listening to good quality music whilst sipping your favourite drinks. The 40-seat cosy Cigar Club has comfortable hefty lounge chairs, a wide cigar selection and inviting decoration which will enchant not only the cigar lovers. The wonderfully decorated Wine Bar is the perfect place to enjoy the crossing with a glass of wine selected from a fine menu. Next to the Wine Bar you’ll find the classy Whisky Bar where sipping and sniffing of whisky rarities from around the world takes place. For entertainment, the Art Deco style Starlight night club has recently been renovated, and provides magnificent surroundings with glamorously entertaining shows. In Disco Zenith passengers dance till dawn with the best hit music while in the bow of the ship Moonlight Dance Bar offers diverse selection of the best dance hits from the golden times of disco to modern day.
Shopping is an essential part of the Silja Galaxy experience. Food, sweets and drinks are sold in the tax free Supermarket, cosmetics and perfumes are on offer in the Cosmetic Boutique and clothes, fashion and souvenirs in the Boutique. There is also the brand new Gifts and Toys shop, which offers a variety of souvenirs for you to purchase, as well as the whole of the new Fashion Street, which hosts a variety of different shops for you to visit, such as Superdry and Desigual.
Silja Galaxy offers wonderful onboard entertainment during the crossing ranging from the hottest artist and party bands to troubadours turning your ferry crossing into a real cruising atmosphere. The Sauna department makes a pleasant voyage even more enjoyable. The beautifully built sauna department has two private saunas, public saunas and pools for both children and adults.
Silja Galaxy is a ship for the whole family and especially for children. There is now a dedicated area for children to play and have fun, called Silja Land, and is the perfect place for your child to have all the fun they could need. During the school holidays the Galaxy features special entertainment programs for children with dedicated staff on hand to organise all kinds of activities during the trip.

Hello, So with the trip was fine almost everything, except than I paid for the dinner for 3 people(I have the invoice) but on the boat the system didn't found our name, so in the end I paid twice. First when I booked our trip and second on the boat. You know I don't really care 100 euros, but I don't like to pay twice for something. Specaily because the dinner cost was more than the tickets. I travelled from Turku to Stockholm and it was an awesome experience.. starlight bar was an amazing place to bring all the people in the cruise to one place. Amazing music, clean facilities. Few more mobile charging points across the cruise might have helped. Definitely worth a trip.

Great trip, but could would be god to have smokers confined to certain areas. As a non-smoker, going onto the deck for fresh air and the views was often marred by smokers pollution. Otherwise, all good, an enjoyable trip, with good catering.

I had a bad experience because when i bought with my infant everything shows ok in directferries even they send me confirmation email too. But after i have reached there silija authorities told me that i have to bought another ticket for my infant too. I tried to explain them why infant need a ticket but they didnot listen anyway i had to pay for another ticket.

"Warning Economy Class Travel - Noise "
All E-Class Cabins are over the Nightclub / Disco. I did not realise this when I booked. I am a seasoned traveler and used to noise, so I go packed with ear plugs. WOW, these cabins are directly above the speakers. Not only is the music very very very loud you also feel the thumping base come up through the floor and through the bed. Luckily I was able to change cabins at the cost of Euro 10. The staff were polite and explained that the web site does say there can be noise heard in these cabins. Checking the Silja Line web site it says : "E-CLASS Due to cabin location you may experience some noise." There is no "may" about it, the noise is there every night and intolerable. Otherwise, very nice cabins and very good services on the ship. The restaurants serve excellent food, I was very impressed, although they can be busy. A good service to travel on, just don't book E-Class.

Not the best trip for us our bunks where directly under the disco that carried on nearly all night so we then had to drive the following day with virtually no sleep so not recommended unless you want to party all night

The cabin n view passing the Archipelago were incredible as was the food served on board. The quality of the steak was equal to that at a Michelin star restaurant, we know as we have been to some. The whole experience was a delightful surprise.

Things seemed fine at booking. However, arriving at check-in it was discovered that Direct Ferries had booked me on a daytime ferry although I had emails confirming an overnight ferry with cabin. Tallink Silja managed to get me a cabin and the rest of the trip was excellent.

I have been blessed to have visited some extraordinary places in different parts of the world, but this 12-hour long crossing of Turku and Stockholm enchanting Islands is simply dazzling and spellbinding. Wonderful Galaxy Ferry. Extremally affable and helpful Steward Yonas at the Information Desk. Thank you Tallink Silja for this amazing experience. I do dream to repete this adventure in the future.

Good trip nice food. I was not very happy with the cabin. However I know the cabin on deck 5 are not as comfortable and nice as on the other decks higher up
"Pleasant experience"
My wife and I took the day ferry and enjoyed the views of the scenic islands along the way. The cruise ship was fantastic and the cabin that we had was lovely. The ticket that we bought had breakfast included and also there were vouchers with cash value that could be used at the restaurants. The friendly staff made the experience even better...overall we enjoyed every bit of the trip!

"Good Experience Booking with Direct Ferries"
I'm so glad I didn't read the reviews before I booked my ferry tickets! However I didn't and went ahead and booked a ferry from Stockholm to Turku and a return from Helsinki to Stockholm. Everything went perfectly. I chose the dates, paid the money and printed off my tickets for each leg of the journey. When I turned up to check in for each journey, everything went like clockwork. I've had a very good experience with Direct Ferries. As regards the ferries themselves, they were pretty similar though I preferred the Stockholm-Turku sailing because I got a cabin with a porthole. I wouldn't have thought it'd make such a difference but the cabin I had without a porthole was quite claustrophobic and it wasn't such a nice experience.

The cabin was very clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was small but very useful. Good choice of food and drinks in the bars and restaurants. The staff was very friendly. The trip was very pleasantly. The unique minus was the night club on the ferry , it is very loud and you can hear the noise in your cabin. Apart of this all was good and I recommend that operator.

A fun trip with many facilities

It was a very tiring trip because I had to wait at the port of Turku for 7 hours + the trip onboard.. I was missing the dance people, just parents with their children isn't much fun. It's not enough to have an inflatable plastic doll with you. The prices were too high on most things. The sauna was the best thing after 4 weeks in a tent.

This ferry trip was at least as good as any other we have taken, the ferry employees were most helpful and very customer orientated. The on-board entertainment was unexpected and most enjoyable we had an excellent experience.

With so much noise from the bars and private, social gatherings in the cabins I would recommend sailing during the daytime instead if you are travelling with young children or for other reasons don't want to be part of the social activities.

We were not made aware of any time difference. We thought we had plenty of time in the morning. Annoying getting to car deck only to find we had the only car there, while my companion had to run to disembark.

"Stunning Journey"
My wife, daughter and I recently traveled on the M/S Galaxy from Turku to Stockholm. What a stunning journey. The first three hours or so as the ship travels through the Aland Archipelago is spectacular, not only scenery wise but navigation-wise, highlighting the skills of the captain and his crew. Likewise, the interesting trip into Mariehamn, closely followed up the channel into port by Galaxy's sister ship Baltic Princess is an interesting sidelight. Then the entry into Stockholm. Stunning. We occupied a four-berth outside cabin which afforded us privacy and relaxation and was an excellent means of travel. We live in Sydney, Australia and always marvel at the beauty and expanse of Sydney Harbour but the experience of Stockholm Harbour is just as spectacular.

It was my second time to take an over-night ferry. Everything was still impressive to me and the cabin room was really comfortable. The crew were mostly friendly as well. I enjoyed the cruise very much.

Both trips were efficient and reasonably comfortable. The buffet was manic but plenty of food and good value for money. The grill was a better experience if a little more expensive. The cabins were small but adequate including a surprisingly good shower. It was unfortunate that access to the limited open decks meant braving the plethora of smokers. On the return journey much of the open deck was closed - not sure why.

I went by ferry from Turku to Stockholm as a deck passage. The ship has made a very clean and seemed very safe. The ride itself runs (about 11 hours), but it will be through the wonderful landscape (both Finnish as also the Swedish side) compensated. view was the climax of my holidays. The food on board was partly very expensive: typical ferry surcharge on prices in Finland (which even compared to Germany are already high), so you should bring something to eat / drink. Worth Considering it's safe to book a cabin for the long ride. I sat most of the time outside or in the (generous) reception area. The ferry makes a stop on Aland. Here most of the passengers got off, so it was very quiet on the drive to Stockholm. I would make the trip again. Notes: There is a large children's area. I would book tickets online in advance and not just buy on the day of booking, as the ferry on weekends and in the summer by many Finns to travel to Aland is used.

A very pleasant crossing which gives you the opportunity to view the coast and the many islands both on the Swedish and on the Finish side. Good confort aboard. A lot of animations for all ages. I would recommend the night crossing, especially during this time of the year.
"Genuine experience! "
The crossing from Stockholm to Turku is a real experience, as it passes by hundreds of islands and offers photo opportunities churning. The Galaxy is equipped with everything and hardly differs from a cruise ship. The only negative was the breakfast buffet. The ship has docked at 7 clock in the morning and from 6 clock it was breakfast, so had to have breakfast at the same time and there was quite a mess and crowds all passengers.

Good and cheap. Cabin is recommended. Who can sleep in a sitting position is a clear advantage dont need a cabin. The breakfast buffet is price / performance moderately ok.

This must be one of the great ferry trips. The trip down the archipelago is exciting and the scenery wonderful. The food is delicious & the choice is vast. The ships are large & they depart on time. Recommend
